There are no short cuts

I hear myself say “I want to read more,” or “I need to write more,” or “I want to spend less time on social media.” I’m not alone, I hear a version on those every day all around me. Every one has something that they would like to do more, or less. Something they would like get to, something they would like to do.

The solution is simple. If you want read more, you need make time for it and read. If you want to be writing, you need to write. If you want to be fit, you need to exercise regularly and eat well. If you want to be less on social media you need to pick up your phone less. If you want that people read your blog, you need to post there regularly. It’s that simple.

So why are we always looking for hacks, shortcuts, magic formulas? There are none. If you want to do something, you need to be doing it. That’s it. There is no magic to it. There is only making sure that you’re doing what you want to be doing.

There’s no short cut to having readers of your blog. To get them you need to write and post something regularly. There is no hack for writing a book. If you want to write one, you need to put your ass in chair and write, a lot. If you want to read more, you may have to stop watching Netflix or scrolling Instagram and pick up a book and read. There’s nothing more to it.

I know it’s hard. I know it’s not how it looks like on the internet. I know there are always people who will tell you that they can help you do what you want to do and reach those goals, because they found a way to do that. I know we all want to believe them. I know it’s easier to spend money on another course or e-book that promises you an easy way to get what you want.

But listen to me. I tried them all. And I came back to this simple way of reaching my goals. And listen carefully now. This is it.

Work. Putting an effort in every day. Head down, ass in chair and work. There really is nothing more to it.
