A year of reading from home

I have 142 unread books at home and a feeling that those piles are not getting any smaller. I guess I’m right as last time I checked I had 121 unread books at home. I wasn’t buying that much this year and I’ve read some from the piles, so how did this happen? I blame the library, bookstagram and Simon Savidge. Not necessarily in that order.

This has gotten out of hand and I didn’t even count the books on my e-reader. Yes, there’s more there and I need to deal with those books too. That’s why I gave myself a challenge of a year of reading from home. I’m not going to read only from my own shelves (and piles), but I’ll read more from them then from the library.

So for a year, starting 1st of December I’ll be reading one library book to two books from my TBR. Same goes for e-books and my e-book subscription. And as for the library books, I’ll be trying to borrow the books from my Goodreads want-to-read list first.

It’s quite a challenge for me, as I really like the library and reading on a whim, but it’s time to make those piles smaller as they start to make me a little bit anxious.

Would you like to join me?

I’ll be reporting on the progress here. I’m thinking about weekly blog post about what I’m reading and a bigger one once a month. I hope you’ll join me on this adventure.
